I just had a new grandson a week ago! God is good! I am in Austin for over two weeks to help my daughter and son-in-law with the baby and the almost-2-year old. It is, needless to say, a very busy time. Right after the new baby was born, I got behind and had to read 36 pages to catch up. I set aside a time when everyone was napping to catch up, and found myself so engrossed in the story that I wanted to read a little further. 6 pages later, I stopped. And I realized: if I get behind tomorrow, I'll only have 6 pages to make up the next day, which is somehow less daunting than being a full day behind. So now, I continue to read 12 pages a day, which means I am always 6 pages ahead.

I don't want to get a whole day ahead--or even several days ahead--because I want to strive for the daily discipline. But that 6-page cushion is strangely reassuring to me. Maybe others would find this useful as well.

Looking forward to being back in the group sessions!

I like staying a little ahead as well! I have 2 little ones and I just never know when I'll get my next chance to read. I'll admit I do not get to read every day like I want, so when I get to read, I read as much as I can.

Congrats on the new grandson!
